What is perimeter security?
Perimeter security is a constant concern for directors and members of the security team.
It is common that material is theft because of the big land area of industrial plants where there are not enough security guards to be present throughout the area at all times or very often, also it is important to consider low salaries of the guards where sometimes there is collaboration between the thieves and guards threatened not only by what they take but by the mere presence of dangerous people in areas inside the plant where the possibility of reaction is reduced to zero because you are already in front of the aggressor.
The worst of it is that companies do not take immediate action and this may happen again, causing great fear and frustration in employees
The first line of protection from external threats is the perimeter security fence where many times is crossed without problem, so it becomes imperative to install a security system to warn of these intrusions and have a response time
There are several options
Perimeter Protection
1.-Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection
This resource allows you to detect in real time the precise location of the intrusion into the perimeter, regardless of distance, can be combined with cameras to automatically positions in the area of intrusion, and record the event. Usually this application is used in airports, refineries, military installations, production plants etc.
2.-Motion Detection Sensors
a) horizontal infrared sensors
The perimeter is divided into horizontal zones each one is connected to an alarm circuit and a indicator alarm to security guards, depending on the budget each area can support a certain number of rays of light, a greater number of rays less false alarms since the alarm have to combine the interruption of several rays which logically be the size of a person, it wont activate by animals crossing, flying dust etc. Getting a high degree of reliability
these regions may be connected to the camera circuit when receiving a circuit closure camera will move to the intrusion area
b) infrared sensors diagonally
Poles are installed each given distance along the perimeter on the highest part of each of them 2 0 3 meters sensor is installed pointing the ground at 45 degrees to generate multiple rays in a diagonal pattern when they are interrupted is generated visual alarm in the security booth.
These are examples of some technologies available, all depends on the degree of security desired and the available budget, it is best that you obtain advice from an expert in security.
