My network is down what should I do?

When network is down is important to keep calm and think positively and not let users make you lose your attention because of the constant calls asking.

How log will be solved? I was in the middle of urgent transfer and was stopped what should I do?

 

The actions to be taken are as follows

1.-Understanding the problem
the main thing is to understand what is down? Usually the user will tell you that nothing works but you have to go into detail on this statement and ask the following.

a)      What is not working?

b)      Is there any other pc from your neighbors with the same problem?

c)      Is there any other applications working?  Which one is failing?

d)     Did you take any action that would cause the problem?

e)      When it started to fail?

 

2.-Under technical memory of your communications infrastructure you can identify the part of the network that is failing and taking information to perform the necessary actions that are listed:

 

a)      Access to the switch closest to the PC or group of PC with failure, and check connectivity from the switch to the central switches or critical servers

b)      If unable to access the remote switch you can do until the last point that there is connectivity that will show the areas of network damage

c)      It is important to have diagnostic software that helps you to discover the topology and automatically monitor each device so you can quickly see the damaged sector of the network

d)     when there is damage to equipment you can use the technical memory for a copy of the last working configuration

e)      A high percentage of faults are related to telephone company issues,  that provides the links between locations, the technical memory will give you information to open a service request for repair
