Why invest in IP phones that support the SIP protocol?
The main reason to invest in IP phones that support the SIP protocol is to protect your investment.
The SIP IP phones are based on open standards; they work perfectly in unified communications, fully support VoIP, they offer you mobility and they are a 100% collaborative solution.
When you invest in IP phones that do not support the SIP protocol you marry the manufacturer of the phone system, which is the same as the IP phones, this means you have to invest in the same manufacturer for the phone system and IP phones.
